This Shroud of the Avatar Puzzle Map was done by LinkofHyrule using the puzzle pieces from the Update of the Avatar releases.
The map was slowly revealed over the course of development in 2013. Initially, the map was missing many puzzle pieces; however, with each new release of the game, a puzzle piece was added that showed more of New Britannia. Ultimately, all 35 puzzle pieces were added, and the map was completely revealed.
The process of map completion was a method to help create anticipation and excitement, slowly revealing the map during development.
The puzzle map (i.e. the map with the puzzle pieces outlined) is not available as an in-game or physical asset, but the final map (without the puzzle piece delineations) was released as a digital file, and as a physical cloth map that was given to early backers as a pledge reward.
The top of the map reads: "New Britannia, Island of Novia"
