Ambassador [[Miles Shepherd]] had been in [[Etceter]] when [[Midras]] fell, and declared himself the Midras government in exile. He was a former [[Guardians of Midras|Guardian of Midras]], and wore a bushy mustache and long hair, both gray. He is a member of the [[Council of Might]].

During the gathering of the Council in Etceter, as depicted in {{BotA}}, Miles attacked [[Aren Bennis]] in despair over losing his home city. Using the powers of his [[Avatar Blade]], Aren was able to understand him, and this caused [[Gerad Zhal]] to declare that Aren must be sent to the [[Titan]]s in [[Opalis]].
