There are two forms of currency in-game:
::* [[Gold|Gold Coins]] - the main in-game currency. It is accepted by [[Vendor]]s and used for most purchases.
::* Crowns of the Obsidians (also called COTOs)

So, Crowns of the Obsidians are one type of coin that is used for currency in-game.  COTOs are remnants of the [[Obsidian Empire]].

==Uses for COTOs==
COTOs are used in-game in the following ways:
* [[Repair Item (Major)| Major Repairs]] on equip-able gear.
* In-game Currency - COTOs are a form of in-game currency that can be used for specific transactions, such as
** Purchases done by trading directly with another player (whereas purchases from a [[Player Vendor]] require [[Gold]]).
** Purchases of certain in-game digital assets (e.g. items in the [[Crown Shop]], deed upgrades, additional [[Player Dungeon]] points, etc.)
** Payment of lot taxes.

==Where to Obtain COTOs==
COTOS can be obtained by the following means:
* Occasionally found as loot on defeated foes or as loot from [[Resource Node]]s.
* Purchased from other players or from [[Player Vendor]]s.
* Purchased from the in-game [[Crown Shop]].
* Purchased from the [[Add-On Store]] on the Shroud of the Avatar website (https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/?page_id=9085).
* In off line mode, some [[NPC]] [[Merchant Vendor]]s sell Crowns of the Obsidians.
