 02:41 here with some guests and we're going to
 02:42 be bringing on other developers in just
 02:44 a little bit to talk about the Reapers
 02:46 in the game My name is Matthew Anderson
 02:49 as you guys know me in the community
 02:51 barrack and this is our Friday community
 02:54 livestream here and we just released our
 02:56 47 to the community and we are we're
 03:00 going to be talking about a whole bunch
 03:01 of we have an amazing weekly update of
 03:04 like our 47 items a couple of our 48
 03:08 items things that are coming up in the
 03:09 next release community events this
 03:11 weekend we just had the dance party sort
 03:14 of a little accident there everything
 03:16 would perfectly smoothly went our 47
 03:19 days grace was super smooth nothing
 03:21 happened
 03:22 nothing to worry about nothing to see
 03:23 here everybody Drive Thru
 03:26 everything service completely
 03:29 uninterrupted so smooth totally cool we
 03:33 didn't even need to be here it was like
 03:34 so before we get into that actually
 03:36 explain what's going on what what do you
 03:39 talk about this is my face oh you didn't
 03:42 shave this much right well I you know
 03:44 I've lost a lot of weight and so you
 03:47 know I've been doing a new diet and are
 03:49 you perfect on my skin and bones you're
 03:51 prepping for the Movember yeah I know so
 03:55 right after this is my daughter's
 03:58 Halloween Carnival at her school and I
 04:01 volunteered to be a fright nur in the
 04:05 haunted house and you know me I love to
 04:08 dress up and so I thought well I'm gonna
 04:11 have to dress up anyway so why not just
 04:13 dress up for the live stream so here I
 04:15 am just in my costume for thee is this
 04:18 is this for your Halloween costume
 04:20 contest entry for next week we could be
 04:23 we have our own testing it out - we'll
 04:25 see but anyway so yes so little hiccup
 04:31 there
 04:32 a little bit ago with the servers our
 04:36 hosting facility had some connection
 04:39 problem which I think was resolving
 04:43 right as the streams started yeah looks
 04:46 like you might be able to get into the
 04:48 game if you check now but don't because
 04:50 you're watching our last no don't do
 04:52 that because we want we were we were
 04:53 joking that this would be our highest
 04:56 number of live stream Watchers ever
 04:59 because no one could get in the game so
 05:01 don't try to give him the game watch us
 05:04 instead oh no so you don't get in Maeve
 05:07 Allen you need to watch us anyway so but
 05:12 it seems to everything be back online
 05:14 and funny enough our server yet again
 05:18 did not crash this was not a software
 05:20 issue this was a connectivity issue with
 05:22 the hosting facility anyway so should
 05:28 you stop right in yeah we got it we got
 05:30 some news we got it mystery guests oh we
 05:32 have a person in orange next to me
 05:35 oh we're look we're in hallways fear
 05:37 black and orange like it's very it's
 05:39 very
 05:39 oh but that's not why it's in orange
 05:40 anyway so those of you who've been
 05:44 following along with us know that we are
 05:47 expanding worldwide our Black Sun
 05:51 partners are gearing up for their
 05:53 Russian launch that's gonna happen any
 05:55 minute now
 05:56 actually they're there they're up and
 05:58 running you can purchase a group on the
 06:00 Black Sun site there may gonna make a
 06:03 big announcement
 06:04 big splash next week and we're gonna be
 06:07 doing the same thing with our partners
 06:10 treyvion in Europe and other locations
 06:14 around the world and Stefan is our
 06:18 executive producer with treyvion so he
 06:21 is the German version of me doesn't he
 06:23 look like the German version of me cke
 06:26 uncanny resemblance
 06:28 alright so Stefan would you like to tell
 06:33 us a little bit about yourself yeah sure
 06:35 I'm German in disguise as you can see on
 06:39 the Longhorn shirt and I've been working
 06:42 for trading games I've been appointed
 06:44 exactly
 06:45 producer for shrouds of the avatar and
 06:47 I'm here to help the team have
 06:49 commercial success in Europe Latin
 06:52 America as well as in the MENA region I
 06:55 mean it I've been in games for the past
 06:58 15 years so compared to these guys here
 07:01 I'm a rookie but I've already seen a
 07:04 couple of stops and have worked my way
 07:07 up swings in QA which is a very good
 07:10 starting point for a career
 07:11 oh it is it that is how I got started
 07:13 yeah work in production and management
 07:16 and I'm super excited to be here and
 07:19 work on this game because thirty years
 07:21 ago I've been playing my first Ultima
 07:24 games and now I'm selling the Lord
 07:26 British office so who would have guessed
 07:28 that yeah that's where we that's where
 07:31 we stashed our Stephane like so when
 07:33 because Richard you know comes in and
 07:35 out of the office so whenever we have
 07:37 our whenever the trading guys come to
 07:39 visit they get to sit in Richards office
 07:42 which they're always like are you sure
 07:43 it's cool if we sit in Richards over
 07:45 like yeah why not and they're like well
 07:47 it's cause it's Richards office that's
 07:49 right across from the coffee and the
 07:51 snacks and thank you again for cliffs oh
 07:54 yes Devon brought his chocolates from
 07:56 Germany you never knew they were
 07:57 devoured them I think they were only
 07:58 them I - I - yeah locusts well we're
 08:02 really really excited to have Stefan
 08:04 here he was twitch sound was cut oh is
 08:09 it still cut they made the same welcome
 08:13 Stefan so they did clearly you're still
 08:15 don't know and they heard chocolate so
 08:16 it's not alright so we're super psyched
 08:19 to have Stefan thanks for joining us and
 08:22 he's gonna be staying with us through
 08:25 next Thursday and he's gonna head back
 08:27 across the pond back to Germany but
 08:30 you'll see him off and on periodically
 08:32 maybe on telephones or streams or
 08:35 whatever and then you know of course
 08:37 around launch and things like that will
 08:38 be picking back things
 08:39 thanks upon all rights more than news so
 08:44 of course the big news is the least 47
 08:47 is live and like I said it went
 08:49 perfectly smoothly nothing went wrong

 09:03 of the big things about this release was
 09:05 we finally have got some time to go back
 09:07 and finish the oracle temple and michael
 09:11 hutchison wrote an amazing detailed post
 09:15 that chronicled the entire history of us
 09:18 building them the Oracle and the
 09:20 Watchers and the Oracle temple from
 09:23 beginning to end we post that debt plus
 09:26 then we made a post about it today on
 09:27 the website and that's linked in our
 09:29 weekly update you should check that out
 09:31 it's a great sort of sneak peek into
 09:34 what an entire development process of a
 09:38 concept and a piece of art is like so
 09:42 it's a really really really great
 09:44 insight into the entire development
 09:47 process so if you haven't checked that
 09:49 out and you don't mind a spoiler because
 09:52 I will warn you it is an incredible
 09:54 spoiler because it's basically the big
 09:57 reveal of the Oracle at the end of the
 09:59 game
 09:59 so warning and spoiler but it's really
 10:03 cool earlier this week on Monday
 10:07 perceptive be precise we announced some
 10:09 changes that are going to be happening
 10:10 to artifacts in release 48 so prepare
 10:13 thyselves and your artifacts for the
 10:16 changes that are coming so artifacts are
 10:19 now going to be needed you're gonna have
 10:21 to repair artifacts by basically
 10:24 sacrificing other artifacts you're gonna
 10:25 have to salvage other artifacts in order
 10:28 to repair artifacts so check that out
 10:32 also really really really proud to
 10:36 announce that we've greatly expanded the
 10:39 amount of make a difference items we
 10:40 have in the store both with some custom
 10:44 items we made to support the miracle
 10:47 network of children's hospitals and
 10:50 doctors without borders' so we created a
 10:52 bunch of hospital themed content for
 10:54 that also we created a new tag with the
 11:00 virtue symbol that we went into the
 11:03 add-on store so things that aren't just
 11:04 make a difference custom-made for the
 11:07 make a different store just a bunch of
 11:08 items in the island store we tagged with
 11:10 that little virtue symbol and those
 11:13 items are also going to contribute to
 11:15 various charities so anything water
 11:17 related now goes to water.org all
 11:20 anything tree like goes to autism etc
 11:25 etc so look for that little bird true
 11:27 symbol and you can know that if you with
 11:28 that purchase you're also helping make a
 11:31 difference and and I want to give a big
 11:33 shout out to the Aerie fund because we
 11:35 had a meeting with them during silicon
 11:38 which was kind of the inspiration for
 11:41 this big expansion into the add-on store
 11:44 because we realized that you know while
 11:46 we established the make a different
 11:48 store many years ago
 11:50 and we build some custom items for that
 11:52 and periodically we've expanded it like
 11:54 when Shooter Jennings talked to us about
 11:57 doing stuff for breast cancer because of
 12:02 what his wife went through and what many
 12:04 of us have been through with our family
 12:05 members and he donated that so we we and
 12:11 we've added a few items there we haven't
 12:12 refreshed the mega different store as
 12:14 often as we have the rest of the island
 12:15 store and so we we brainstorm with the
 12:18 area fund like well what was a way that
 12:20 we could greatly expand to make a
 12:22 different store without having to make
 12:23 custom items as often as we do and it
 12:26 was it was like hey why don't we just go
 12:28 and tag a bunch of items that have a
 12:31 similar theme like water items for water
 12:33 Oregon so that's what we did so thank
 12:35 you very fun for inspiring us to do that
 12:38 yeah we are
 12:40 hopefully planning to have a link
 12:42 between the naked different store and
 12:44 our normal ANA store because when you go
 12:46 to the store which is the right of the
 12:48 main menu on the front page as a website
 12:50 you have a drop-down that gives you all
 12:52 those selections so if you like to visit
 12:54 the normal add-on store we have links
 12:57 within there that it will take you also
 12:58 to the make a different store but in the
 12:59 drop-down it does say make a difference
 13:01 so those are kind of two separate areas
 13:03 you know we categorize it for you guys
 13:05 and one of the things we're looking to
 13:07 do right now is also being able to take
 13:09 some of those make a difference items
 13:11 and displaying them on the normal add-on
 13:14 store as well so you guys get is like
 13:18 these little icons similarly as a where
 13:20 is
 13:22 you know what we've been adding to those
 13:23 two spots yeah
 13:25 there ton of other things in release 47
 13:28 if you haven't had chance to play or if
 13:30 you hadn't read the instructions there's
 13:32 just so many things I mean there's
 13:33 almost 20 pages of changes bug fixes
 13:36 combat balance etc in release 47 so
 13:40 there's three new maps there's a bunch
 13:43 of new quests there's changes - there's
 13:48 new tier two components that we've
 13:51 increased the power tier two components
 13:53 there's unique components so like elven
 13:57 bowstrings that you can salvage off
 13:58 elven bows
 14:00 there's even named components that you
 14:03 can get off like torque doll control now
 14:05 drop some unique weapons that have
 14:07 unique components that you can salvage
 14:08 off of them so really really cool stuff
 14:11 and I think according to our livestream
 14:14 here guys remember we're gonna be
 14:15 walking around some new some scenes that
 14:17 the Reaper has been added to oh yeah so
 14:20 we uh
 14:20 the Reapers are spreading around no BIA
 14:23 so you'll be able to find the Reapers in
 14:26 more locations don't be don't fear the
 14:31 reaper isn't that a song I don't know be
 14:33 really catchy title for a song I think
 14:35 yeah I was like she's gonna play the
 14:37 song I think that's the one that they
 14:39 were talking about back in the other
 14:41 room but this live stream is gonna go on
 14:43 YouTube probably Monday oh right in
 14:46 there you can't do it right yeah alright
 14:47 let's see
 14:49 a reminder next Friday is our next
 14:53 telethon and it is ice themed so I know
 14:58 and this was a direct request from the
 15:00 players you guys wanted ice themed and
 15:03 so we've got some ice weapons in there
 15:05 some ice decorations of ice elemental
 15:08 statue with frosty stuff I'm ice dragon
 15:10 statue so some really cool stuff coming
 15:13 up in that tallip ice statue that breeze
 15:15 snowflakes well it's gonna have like I
 15:18 see the effects around it so it's gonna
 15:20 be really cool oh and South by Southwest
 15:22 has started announcing programming and
 15:25 Richard and I are both going to be there
 15:27 I'm going to be on a panel with Gordon
 15:29 Walton and Mary
 15:30 lannigan where we're gonna talk about
 15:32 how crowdfunding is constantly changing
 15:35 and how you can adapt to that as
 15:37 developer and Richards gonna be on a
 15:39 panel about the future of mass transit
 15:41 and he's going to talk about his company
 15:43 it's got personal Rapid Transit pods and
 15:46 there's all sorts of other exciting
 15:48 stuff can be happening in South by
 15:50 Southwest too
 15:51 we have a question from these secrets
 15:54 cool we got a question from Joe guru who
 15:57 asks and we get Chris on one of these
 15:59 community live streams absolutely but
 16:01 guess what

 20:36 has been hard at work on these and he
 20:38 has some amazing presence I guess I gave

 20:56 them actually last year we had you know

 21:09 always craftable or other ways to get
 21:12 some of these items in in a related way
 21:15 and we put them ornate once into the

 21:24 in the game by themselves all right so
 21:27 there's surprises let's go and give one

 21:31 gonna run through just a couple of

 21:35 important community events that are
 21:36 happening this weekend let's give away

 22:01 whole thing was down I like to bring up

 22:05 lot of us developers yeah yeah well

 22:09 dance
 22:10 there so there is a dance party in the
 22:11 game if you want to try jump it back
 22:14 into the game and joining that probably
 22:16 it'll go on for the remainder of the

 23:08 decorate a home or property in a spooky
 23:10 ghoulish kind of way and there's been
 23:12 some amazing entries already in the
 23:14 forms on that so you guys can check out
 23:16 what's been submitted already or if you
 23:18 don't have a homework property a lot
 23:20 that's okay we have a second part of the
 23:22 contest where you can decorate yourself
 23:23 in a costume it's a simple costume we've
 23:26 got glowing pumpkin heads we've got all
 23:30 sorts of things you can address your
 23:32 character in and make yourself look
 23:33 really cool so enter one of those by
 23:37 Tuesday and Tuesday at believe it's noon
 23:40 we also have the yes so we mentioned the
 23:44 live stream for Friday but guess what's
 23:46 happening literally literally the next
 23:48 day not even a day later from our live
 23:51 stream next Friday
 23:53 which is our usual sure that'd be great
 23:56 no no I don't think we're getting
 23:58 presents that earlier but no actually
 24:02 what's happening is we have another live
 24:04 stream by the community extra life mmm
 24:06 live stream on November 4 it's so little
 24:08 our live stream the r-47 post mortem
 24:10 telethon is on November 3rd what thanks
 24:13 for life extra lot well I think it's one
 24:15 of those things like in Zelda you get
 24:17 the extra now I'm just gonna
 24:18 so extra life is a a way to an
 24:24 organization that a lot of game industry
 24:28 companies will and other than just
 24:30 general groups will rally around to be
 24:34 is it's a it's a path it's like at
 24:37 weather thank you yeah good give things
 24:39 to the children such a hospital network
 24:42 and they provide access to tools to be
 24:46 able to livestream ways to set up a page
 24:50 to promote your charity event for the
 24:55 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals
 25:01 yeah yeah you can always just sort of
 25:03 being a helpful guy know if there's so
 25:05 much that they do to be able to like
 25:08 give somebody who doesn't you know have
 25:11 a website and the ability really to do
 25:13 much to rally their you know see their
 25:16 existing livestreamer and they want to
 25:19 give it as charity they wanted to get
 25:20 their community involved the the extra
 25:23 life website and programs helped to set
 25:27 that up for for you guys so you go there
 25:30 you register an account you get a page
 25:31 set up well that's what very fun has
 25:34 done so the area fund is organizing
 25:36 eight extra life 24-hour charity event
 25:40 right after our telethon so November
 25:43 fourth check it out it's in the weekly
 25:45 update and it's also set up to where you
 25:49 guys can get personally involved if
 25:52 you're virtuous or you're chaotic one of
 25:55 the two you can join one of the teams
 25:56 one of the sides details on that how to
 26:00 get involved what prizes you can win and
 26:02 how you can contribute to the charity so
 26:04 that's all happening in less well about
 26:08 a week now and then speaking of
 26:10 screaming ons and telethon the think
 26:13 pink 24 hour stream thought was a huge
 26:14 success there's a results in the weekly
 26:16 update and in the forum's as well on
 26:19 details with that if you missed it last

 2017 Halloween Fashion Show so that

 26:41 a Halloween fashion show so I'll be

 26:45 different fashion statements are made
 26:48 there and then of course the back to
 26:51 minhwan we had a spotlight of the
 26:54 minhwan haunted house a couple weeks ago
 26:56 and now the minhwan haunted house is
 26:58 having a dance party we have a dance
 27:01 party right happening right now on the
 27:02 game but there's another dance party if
 27:03 you miss this one on October 31st
 27:06 Halloween Day itself quite appropriate
 27:09 lot of stuff going on during Halloween
 27:11 we've got our own office costume contest
 27:13 we've got the Halloween dance party in
 27:16 the game the Halloween itself it's gonna
 27:19 be fun so that's the news let's see

 27:59 walking around most of them will have a
 28:01 chance to dare you to go spend the night

 30:09 trying to put it was hard to keep up
 30:12 with the the world bowlers making you
 30:14 know on cloning these scenes and putting
 30:15 in like new fresh stuff and they had
 30:17 their own ideas and so the other guys
 30:19 puzzles and special things in there and
 30:22 I'm trying to keep up talking like oh
 30:23 man I wanted to do a special
 30:24 conversation for that character you just
 30:25 mentioned like oh you know you guys have
 30:27 in mind that that needs to be a quest
 30:28 okay let's let's all talk together the
 30:30 work out the quest for and one of them
 30:32 in fact we're gonna be seen today in
 30:35 north of mid-may away which is where
 30:37 some docile Reapers are
 30:40 yes we'll see some aggressive ones I
 30:42 think though oh yeah let's see them in
 30:44 there so these again I guess well we're
 30:47 still you know we're almost done setting
 30:49 this up guys but if you want to you know
 30:51 introduce really what the Reapers are
 30:53 and we haven't talked a lot about these
 30:55 in the weekly updates we haven't really
 30:57 shown them as much there is a couple of
 30:59
 3d animations of them on sketchfab right

 31:08 animations nice previews of certain
 31:11 things and some of the Reapers are on
 31:12 there so if you want to is there any
 31:14 like history about the Reapers and yeah
 31:16 it sounds like they're a little
 31:17 ggressive like you got to watch out when
 31:18 you're walking around if you're gonna
 31:20 run into one well yeah they're kind of
 31:22 ambush predators so they may resemble a
 31:26 harmless tree very much modeled after an
 31:30 existing tree in the game and plays a
 31:33 trace that small tree it's a big sturdy
 31:35 tree right and it looks exactly like a
 31:40 tree type that we have and we place them
 31:43 in scenes that have that type of tree
 31:44 around so it doesn't look out of place
 31:47 you just walk around and all the sudden
 31:49 think of them like an ambush mode and
 31:52 then fine with you if you stay over
 31:53 there it's get a little too close and
 31:55 like you know what you're a threat now
 31:57 and I need to attack and these are just
 31:59 like regular creatures it was sort of
 32:02 like you know just can fight like a
 32:04 mid-level player you know these are like
 32:07 boss level creatures so they're really
 32:09 tough serious so if your new player
 32:11 watch out for the Reapers and of course
 32:14 in this low-level scene that will
 32:16 eventually get to we put some of these
 32:18 super top boss guys okay so we have to
 32:21 find a way to boy they wins well I think
