 00:11 lunch day and South by Southwest and all
 00:16 this other cool stuff that we're
 00:17 planning we were just planning a bunch
 00:18 of things for you guys in the next
 00:20 several weeks leading up to launch my
 00:22 name is Matthew Anderson I go by barrack
 00:24 in the community most of you probably
 00:25 know me and I have with me star long who
 00:28 is the executive producer on Tralee
 00:30 avatar here at portal areum and we have
 00:32 these weekly fun community live streams
 00:34 for you guys super fun yeah super fun so
 00:37 fun in fact that I forgot half of my
 00:39 notes here I actually have we're now
 00:41 we're going to load up the chat we're
 00:43 gonna be giving away some prizes and 15
 00:47 a little bit in what we were going to
 00:49 actually show you guys you'll notice the
 00:51 announcement yesterday it's not the same
 00:53 as today we are actually we were so

 01:18 these heraldry items have this secret
 01:21 another secret but it's a really cool
 01:23 nifty little effect that we're gonna
 01:25 show you in a future livestream at some
 01:27 point but it's not quite ready yet yeah
 01:29 that was gonna be this one and that's
 01:30 why we changed it felt some scenes
 01:32 meantime agile there we go yep very
 01:35 agile very fast quick but always always

 03:32 in the forums also and I love promoting
 03:36 these two getting started videos that
 03:37 you guys have worked on so many of you
 03:39 created some really great videos how
 03:41 to's walkthroughs and for new players if
 03:45 you're watching right now as new player
 03:46 these getting started videos are the
 03:48 thing for you and we've got some really
 03:50 great community members who took some
 03:51 quite a bit of time on some of them
 03:53 hours to create these videos that give
 03:56 you some tips on getting started we put
 03:58 one in the weekly update how to learn
 04:00 new emotes you wants are really fun we
 04:01 have like pink over a hundred meters or
 04:04 not more than a hundred emotes so you
 04:06 can learn a lot of those and you can
 04:08 actually teach other people quite a few
 04:10 of those as well and then did you know
 04:13 did you know
 04:14 Oh Gary and I love this did you knows
 04:15 did you know the force of new Britannia
 04:17 are fraught with danger you want to know
 04:20 what that danger is learn more at Al

 04:30 and get some prizes warmed up here I'm

 05:02 alright so know lots of awesome stuff in
 05:07 the update this week so with our 51 got
 05:11 is just gonna have amazing stuff it's a
 05:13 short release you know we always talk
 05:15 about Sean releases and then somehow I
 05:17 have this amazing team that has
 05:21 discovered time travel I think because
 05:23 they managed to cram in as much work as
 05:28 a normal release in these short releases
 05:31 so we're doing three formal seed
 05:34 rebuilds in there
 05:36 including South Bend mayor way south
 05:38 fetid swamp and lost Bale all three of
 05:40 which are in this week's update so you
 05:43 can see the pics of those those are
 05:46 looking really amazing all three of them
 05:49 really really cool and and we also
 05:54 unveiled the new Bears the Bears we were
 05:58 actually really sad when those got
 06:01 finished because in our stand-ups we
 06:04 don't get to say the Bears I was sad but
 06:10 they're looking really awesome and you
 06:12 can see those in this week's update and
 06:14 you'll get to see them in our 51 along
 06:18 with some some improvements to vendors
 06:22 including the ability to use patterns on
 06:26 your vendor to give it visual variation
 06:30 so finally vendors won't all look alike
 06:34 of these same clones
 06:35 oh and vendors will finally start
 06:38 animating and moving they'll like
 06:39 animate they'll do some head tracking
 06:42 they'll sit down if they're empty or
 06:45 abandoned been interacted with along in
 06:47 a long time so they're not going to be
 06:50 standing there super still and all be
 06:53 cloned also there's going to be a new
 06:56 date column on the vendor so you'll be
 06:58 able to sort by date so you'll be able
 06:59 to see what the newest items that have
 07:01 been
 07:02 to the vendor all that's in the weekly
 07:04 update as well along with new visuals
 07:08 for the heraldry items specifically the
 07:11 founder versions which we made a little
 07:14 more visually distinct with some little
 07:16 colors on them and more angled cloth
 07:20 bottoms to those and also for those of
 07:26 you who cannot simply cannot wait of the
 07:29 22nd when our 51 goes live a QA version
 07:33 will be going live maybe Monday probably
 07:37 definitely Tuesday so if you can't wait
 07:41 till the 22nd you could get on and help
 07:44 us test out on QA and remember if you
 07:47 test on QA it all sorts of cool
 07:50 exclusive tester items like the ant farm
 07:55 and the antenna and the ant cloak all
 07:59 sorts of stuff and r51 is just going to
 08:01 have so many cool stuff besides all the
 08:02 stuff I mentioned like the Bears and the
 08:03 scene rebuilds and the heraldry step and
 08:06 the bender variations the wild boars
 08:08 that we introduced last release and our
 08:11 50 are going to be table and we've
 08:14 already been testing out but they're
 08:15 wild that makes no sense yeah and I
 08:18 think that was like one of the very
 08:20 first things that a toast did when he
 08:24 got in a dip was taking himself a boar
 08:27 and a speaking of tamed pets so all the
 08:33 way back in released 45 I think it was
 08:35 we added the ability to get your pets to
 08:39 ammo like sit and dance but that was
 08:42 actually only working for non-combat
 08:46 pets but we've been Matt's been doing a
 08:49 bunch of work you had that too tamed
 08:53 pets so combat pets now can dance so
 08:56 you're going to get finally going to be
 08:57 able to have your bear and your wolf and
 08:59 your core peon and your spider be able
 09:02 to do things like sit and dance and a
 09:05 big major update to combat as I feel
 09:09 like we're saying this every release now
 09:10 you know who did this big major map
 09:12 to combat a chose has been doing this
 09:15 amazing work with combat to introduce
 09:19 this whole idea of skilled proficiency
 09:21 or so where if you concentrate on one
 09:25 single school you'll get all sorts of
 09:28 bonuses you can only have one so that's
 09:32 going to be going in our 51 oh and the
 09:38 virtue leggings the quest to get those
 09:41 so you'll finally be able to build your
 09:42 whole set of virtue armor and new
 09:47 harvestable trees that actually look
 09:49 like the maple and the pine those are
 09:51 going in I'm going to be putting out
 09:53 some images of those first thing next
 09:54 week and a bunch of you I polish
 09:57 including finally when you go and talk
 10:01 to an NPC for your quest and you have
 10:04 items and stacks they'll pull exactly
 10:06 what they need out of your stacks or
 10:09 various tax instead of you having to
 10:10 have the exact stacked number of items
 10:12 that they need so that's a I know that
 10:15 that's a seems like a some things are
 10:18 super obvious but that's going to be
 10:19 done and also in this week's update and
 10:25 this week I managed to get all of the
 10:27 missed questions with some help from
 10:29 Jesus and a toast we got all the missed
 10:33 questions from our fifty telethon and
 10:35 YouTube video those are posted and
 10:37 weekly update and we're getting down to
 10:40 the very last few and BC submissions for
 10:43 xenos and you we've gotten some great
 10:45 submissions thank you
 10:47 backers who gave us some really great
 10:52 submissions for those and we're down to
 10:53 the last few and then we have our this
 10:57 week sales this week's weekend sales all
 11:00 about the Vikings and the wolves and
 11:02 this was in celebration of the noir
 11:05 guard barbarian gear that we added to
 11:07 the game new walls that we anything wolf
 11:11 and biking deer related build this
 11:14 weekend and last two things want to
 11:17 mention so we talked a little bit again
 11:20 about South by Southwest this week in
 11:22 the update one thing to note you know
 11:26 we talked about we're having our booth
 11:27 at South by Southwest gaming and one
 11:29 thing that I added in the note this week
 11:31 is that we're gonna have our booth where
 11:34 you can come and play the game you can
 11:35 meet the developers but in addition
 11:36 we're gonna be sharing our booth with
 11:38 the merits tap guys and we have a cool
 11:42 announcement that's going to be going
 11:43 out maybe next week hopefully about some
 11:45 cool promotions we're doing with them
 11:47 around South by Southwest and also the
 11:51 airy fund folks are going to be in our
 11:53 group with us talking about all the
 11:55 charitable work we've been doing with
 11:56 them and they've been doing with the
 11:58 merits app guys as well and speaking of
 12:00 that Airy fund is launching their new
 12:04 twitch show tonight yes right Yeah right
 12:08 and I'm actually going to be on their
 12:10 show on March night and last thing we'll
 12:13 talk about is I'm doing another dance

 15:26 South fetid swamp into update so right
 15:29 now I'm finalizing row coding Dan's got
 15:32 some puzzle mechanic Sam's and then
 15:35 because we're working on finding the map
 15:39 add guys introductions as Craig searched
 15:54 for Steve on forums just like every
 15:59 everyday I'm for Steve so here we are
 16:08 inside fetid swamp the story that was
 16:13 outfitted swamp is that this is the site
 16:16 of an ancient battle go ahead and let us
 16:28 know if that's better thanks to drugger
 16:31 and a couple of others or letting us
 16:34 know on that sound so yeah as I was
 16:37 saying a South fetes Wampus well for one
 16:40 it's located in the word Dante's region
 16:41 and the story behind this map is that it
 16:45 is the site of an ancient battlefield
 16:49 and the skeletons so a lot of the
 16:52 inspiration of tier 3 by the way we can
 16:54 see the red skull marker here but a lot
 16:58 of the inspiration for this swamp came
 17:00 from a Dead Marshes in Lord of the Rings
 17:03 so I really wanted to have a swamp where
 17:06 there was I mean for one the name feted
 17:10 associated with you know pungent smells
 17:13 and I thought what better way to
 17:14 showcase that than by having a swamp
 17:18 with a bunch of dead people in it so
 17:25 as you can see there's signs of a siege
 17:28 every now and then you'll see these is
 17:31 like fire blooms that come out of the
 17:35 water the signs of methane gas it rises
 17:38 up and then just spontaneously combusts
 17:42 and then of course you see just uh you
 17:46 know stinky bog gases swamp gases that
 17:55 we're currently in the encampments of
 17:57 this is what was once the siege site so
 18:02 they attack the castle like the swamp
 18:05 gases by the way thanks fire swamp
 18:09 Ramona this is Raul yeah I think yeah I
 18:15 think I can remember that baby we've got
 18:20 a winner of this Valentine's Day gift

 19:31 it like a spirit or something like a
 19:34 yeah we could trigger some yeah it
 19:37 triggers him get us off of those yeah
 19:41 you're doing your splinting pass on this
 19:44 no I think right
 19:46 yes I'm just starting spawning pass so
 19:49 earlier today I was just working on like
 19:52 setting up on sand discoveries and yeah
 19:55 that's exactly what I'm working on right
 19:56 now when I mean support on the trigger
 19:59 will trigger those I mean I just think
 20:04 that would be cool because I don't think
 20:05 we've done that ever I mean not in that
 20:08 sense of having like womp gas and then
 20:10 have it associated with like the fact
 20:13 that there's so many dead bodies like
 20:14 you know there's a broken siege machines
 20:16 and obviously this was a big battle and
 20:19 then have and ghosts coming out of the
 20:22 salon the Restless dude so we're gonna
 20:26 make our way toward the castle
 20:27 so I collaborate a lot with Dan in this
 20:30 puzzle I really wanted to get his input
 20:32 on this and you know just kind of see
 20:34 what he could do with that but I
 20:36 basically you know just continue a few
 20:39 weeks ago and I was like hey Dan you
 20:41 know I this is the site of a big battle
 20:42 I can imagine people attack the castle
 20:45 you know you can see signs of boats
 20:48 these are so you know as sea just tend
 20:52 to go some of them can prolong for long
 20:55 periods of time and after a while you
 20:58 know the attackers assaulted it and they
 21:00 assaulted a via bugs
 21:02 the attackers put up defensive
 21:04 barricades so you can see where the
 21:06 boats kind of busted as they drifted on
 21:10 shore now as the attack as the attackers
 21:14 would have then proceeded to attack it
 21:17 would have lifted up ladders to scale
 21:19 the mud cliffs some of these ladders
 21:21 have been brought down lots of
 21:24 casualties due to the Aero fire and
 21:26 those few that managed to get across you
 21:30 know how to deal with the party life
 21:32 hey guys those are some of the traps
 21:34 that are still active even to this day
 21:37 so much mate defenses so it's a part of
 21:44 the backstory for this castle is
 21:46 had many generations of successful
 21:50 defenses against sieges the last Lord
 21:56 who oversaw this castle
 21:59 didn't have as much as much success that
 22:01 determined the attackers the bridge
 22:03 stalls in spite all the defensive
 22:07 disadvantages of the attitude is
 22:09 pointing out they managed to they
 22:11 managed to make it in yes
 22:15 so that backstory don't say too much are
 22:22 the traps in here oh yes there's plenty
 22:25 of em yeah dude you ever told everybody
 22:31 watching Richards interest in traps oh
 22:35 yes I mean he will stop by our desks
 22:38 like at least three times a week
 22:40 probably transcriptor chats few times a
 22:44 day when he's when he's in the office or
 22:46 even on the robots and I and remind us
 22:49 to transfer an important essential part
 22:52 of any any scene yeah yeah I really like
 22:57 where the pingu starfish said about you
 23:00 know it's amazing how long some seniors
 23:03 can get up like for like decades and
 23:06 decades Canada Oh candy yeah yeah yeah
 23:13 so I could go ahead and get to the
 23:14 puzzle and then we can talk about you
 23:16 know some of the work that you did
 23:18 following yeah just a little bit of them
 23:21 how do you manage to tie in the virtue
 23:23 to negress I thought that was really
 23:24 cool yeah a sneak peek so on the
 23:28 telethon recently we showed off a few
 23:31 scenes and particularly the puzzles in
 23:33 those scenes because that was the focus
 23:34 we went a little more in-depth a little
 23:36 more spoiler intensive than we normally
 23:42 do but we're going back to the regular
 23:44 he's regularly scheduled a spoiler free
 23:49 puzzle tour for this but so here's a
 23:54 spic ulis column with some some banners
 23:59 it happened to have eight sides yes
 24:01 that's very very appropriate and there
 24:05 might be some familiar symbols of these
 24:08 little tip that also kind of ties in
 24:10 with fact that these are virtue really
 24:14 good be any virtues sacrifice there all
 24:18 of them are feature here and also below
 24:22 them aside from be little spiky
 24:25 protrusions there pay no mind some
 24:29 switches pulling for each of your virtue
 24:33 banners alright interesting here you can
 24:39 flip them as you would expect to be able
 24:40 to do with any any switch but clearly
 24:43 there's something going on here there's
 24:45 no feedback after each one say okay what
 24:48 does that do okay we'll go stay down and
 24:50 be brought back up after you've
 24:52 interacted with them and it's not
 24:53 immediately it's one official line okay
 24:59 I want to go k61 dance to it so clearly
 25:09 you did something wrong because spikes
 25:12 in the face itself it's the best
 25:14 indication to know something wrong the
 25:16 first time I saw is after you set it up
 25:19 I was like oh my god Dan you weren't
 25:21 kidding around with this fight yeah yeah
 25:31 so I'm currently in the process of like
 25:34 you know putting moss on the surface of
 25:37 everything so yeah I have started
 25:39 putting mosses even on the spikes
 25:41 themselves but I excelled in like that
 25:43 but in spite of their age these these
 25:46 traps are clearly still functional and
 25:49 hopefully so is the reward
 25:52 whatever whatever this device is used to
 25:54 conceal their right that's saying too
 25:57 much but they're I guess we can say that
 26:01 there are clues associated to announce
 26:04 you're not intended to try to brute
 26:06 force your way through the solution to
 26:08 this right there are four
 26:11 clues somewhere it meets that swamp of
 26:15 that song about six clues there abouts
 26:20 deep hidden in this one baby some in the
 26:25 castle maybe some in the swamps they're
 26:28 all in the scene I tell you that I can
 26:30 tell you that though yeah there's plenty
 26:34 of mix inside castle as with every cast
 26:39 I design I try to make them a difference
 26:42 the other thing for castles yeah would
 26:45 you consider the what scene was that the
 26:47 with the prison libris Liberty yeah
 26:50 livers rooms right yes with it it's that
 26:53 now in Castle Lords I just know that was
 26:55 a big structure I guess you could say
 26:57 that was the mixing words your castles
 27:01 in prisons maybe the same I don't know
 27:03 mmm once upon a time it used to be a
 27:07 hassle but now it's a prison or maybe it
 27:10 used to be a prison but not as a castle
 27:11 though it's likely the yeah
 27:13 I don't know of any person who would
 27:16 make a castle out of but what was once a
 27:18 crown or illegible playing a census
 27:22 creep you know you let us know guys does
 27:24 it make sense to turn a prison into a
 27:27 castle
 27:27 what's scenario it was a great question
 27:30 as somebody's asking and you just pull
 27:33 the levers by standing away from them
 27:35 I'm trying to get I mean no you might be
 27:40 able to get away with it you guys are
 27:42 pretty clever pretty good choice cool
 27:46 yeah yes anyways just subvert or did we
 27:49 plans for you but initial testing
 27:54 suggests that you have to be in range of
 27:57 the switch within range of the spikes to
 27:59 interact with the switch and that
 28:02 interact during festival so look you
 28:04 guys are sneaky and we catch we know
 28:06 they're gonna make some adjustments but
 28:09 really it's it's hard to brute force
 28:11 your way through that puzzle just given
 28:13 the number of possible solutions so as I
 28:18 see both was pointing out earlier the
 28:20 tracks are kind of more injury to insult
 28:23 just given
 28:25 right so I've now taking the southern
 28:32 route into the map and I'm gonna go
 28:35 ahead and show off this bud house layer
 28:40 so deep inside the swamp these are some
 28:43 of the locals so there's gonna be a
 28:46 special story tied in with the person
 28:49 who lives here we're gonna keep that in
 28:52 to download for now but I just know that
 28:54 there's gonna be quite a person that
 28:56 lives here uh
 28:56 and you know just to show you what he's
 28:59 into he likes to bury people up to their
 29:02 necks see there's yep
 29:10 I was asking who are all naked statue
 29:13 girls here we are inside the Whithouse

 31:52 cypress knees and just yeah that's
 31:57 thinking you know roots sticking above
 31:58 the surface of the water Greg to night

 33:38 see that the locals have been busy the
 33:42 crocodile Hunter's got catching today
 33:45 some River Monsters there's a big five

 33:52 that one like these looks a little more
 33:55 pale and maybe was though we're gonna
 33:57 come under the water maybe they and you
