Editing Block (Combat Statistic)

Block is a combat statistic that determines the chance that you can block some damage (not all damage) from a frontal melee or ranged attack, primarily when using a shield.
A melee attack that comes from the side or from behind cannot be blocked.

* Equipable items that increase [[Combat Block Modifier]]
** Shields whose baseline stats include Combat Block Modifier (see [[Combat Block Modifier]] for a list)
** Shields that have Combat Block Modifier added by the [[Masterwork Blacksmithing Upgrade]].
* Skills that increase [[Combat Block Modifier]]
** [[Deflect]]
** [[Ranged Defense]] (increases chance to block only ranged attacks)
** [[Dig In]] when the player has [[Shield Specialization]]

=Things that Decrease the Chance to Block an Attack=
* [[Gaudy Vile Spear]]

=Things that increase the Amount of Damage that is Blocked=
* Higher [[Experience#Adventurer_Level|Adventurer Level]]
* Anything that increases [[Shield Block Power]]
