The '''Blackblade Range''' mountains form a natural north-south granite boundary between [[Midmaer]] and [[Paladis]]. They are 5,000 feet high and the only known way through them from east to west is the [[Nightshade Pass]].

Legend has it that the Blackblade Mountains were caused to rise by an Avatar striking into the heart of the world with a sword, seeking to destroy the planet and end the war between gods and avatars. A peak known as the [[Hilt]] is reputed to be actual hilt of that sword, which the gods left in the wound rather than risking pulling it out.
