: SOTA also keeps track of a variable called "Current Speed", which is a measure of your current movement pace (how fast you are actually moving at a given time). However, the "current speed" number is not accessible via the standard SOTA user interface (but it can be seen with some player-created tools, such as [https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/forum/index.php?threads/companion-of-the-avatar.63828/ Companion of the Avatar]).

:For example, let's say an avatar has a baseline movement speed of 6.9 with a 140% move rate. When this avatar runs, the current speed would 9.6 (6.9 movement speed x 1.4 move rate = 9.6).

: Going into [[Combat|Combat Stance]] will decrease current speed by approximately 10% (going into Combat Stance does not directly effect Movement Speed or Movement Rate, so you will not see a change in either of those stats).
