== Keyboard Controls == === Movement (Default Keybinds are Listed)=== * ‘W-A-S-D’ keys control Avatar directional movement - press and hold to move (W = forward, A = left, S = backward, D = right) * Press keypad "+" key to toggle auto-run on or off (turning this setting "on" will put the avatar in continuous "Run Mode" or "Walk Mode", whichever is currently active). * Movement speeds ** Walk Mode - slow speed. The default hotkey is keypad backslash, which toggles between walk and run modes. ** Run Mode - moderate speed. The default hotkey is keypad backslash, which toggles between walk and run modes. ** Fast Run Mode - fast speed (i.e. sprinting). This mode can be activated by rapidly double-tapping and then holding down the "W" key. Running at this pace will drain your focus. You can only fast run if your Avatar is not in walk mode. * Pressing the ‘SPACEBAR’ key will cause your Avatar to jump. You can set the type of jump in the Options > Controls Menu by selecting or unselecting "Use Charged Jump". ** Charged Jump - the longer you hold down the ‘SPACEBAR’ the higher the Avatar will jump (up to the Avatar's maximum jump height). ** Non-Charged Jump - pressing ‘SPACEBAR’ will cause the Avatar jump to maximum height every time. * Combat Rolling - You can toggle on/off combat rolling in the Options > Controls Menu by selecting or unselecting "Enable Combat Rolling". If Combat Rolling is enabled, then the following keystrokes are active: ** Rapidly double-tap "A" - jump and somersault to the left. ** Rapidly double-tap "D" - jump and somersault to the right. ** Rapidly double-tap "S" - jump and somersault to the backward. === Character Management === *‘C’ key or left-clicking the crossed swords & shield icon in the top right menu will bring up your Avatar’s paperdoll and character information *'I' (pre [[Release 4|r4]] installations default to the ‘B’) key or left-clicking the bag icon in the top right menu will toggle open/close your inventory bags **To switch between inventory modes, open up the options menu (left click the gears icon in the top-right corner menu bar) and click the game tab, than the ‘Use List Inventory Mode’ check box *‘N’ key displays the names of other players and NPCs over their head. This is not active by default *‘O’ key opens emote list. Double left clicking on an emote activates it. You can also activate emotes by typing /<name of emote> *‘F’ key brings up Social Window List where you can add or remove friends, manage your guild, or block other players **Friends Tab ***Type in a name in the search field followed by the ‘ENTER’ key to add a user as a friend ***Select a friend from the list and left click Unfriend to remove the selected friend ***Can Right Click to bring up an avatar submenu for interaction options **Guild Tab ***Type in a name in the search field followed by the ‘ENTER’ key to add a user as a guild member if you have permission ***Can Right Click to bring up an avatar submenu for interaction options **Blocked Tab ***Type in a name in the search field followed by the ‘ENTER’ key to add a user to your blocked list ***Can Right Click to bring up an avatar submenu for interaction options *‘U’ key displays the Deeds/Housing Management window *‘ESC’ key exits all open interfaces *‘Z’ key will sheathe or unsheathe your weapon === NPC Interaction === *To converse with NPCs **In SPO/FPO: Simply stand near the NPC you wish to converse with, and hit the ‘ENTER’ key to bring up your chat log. Type what you wish to say to the npc within the chat box, and hit ‘ENTER’ again to send the text, which also exits text entry mode (as is standard in current MMOs). **In OPO: You must now target NPCs (click on them) for them to respond to your messages. This is to prevent NPCs from responding when you mean to talk to other players. *The chat log can be scrolled through by left click+dragging the slider on the right side of the chat window *In the Options menu you can disable the requirement to hit Enter before each text entry *Note that NPCs will not respond (at least not favorably) if you speak to them with an unsheathed weapon. Press ‘Z’ to toggle. === Chat Commands === See [[Commands]] for a complete listing of chat commands. */p - Party */l - Local */W [PLAYER NAME], [MESSAGE] - Whisper **Note: this must be /w then the name followed by "," followed by the message.
