 0:18 official everybody knows who we are now

 0:24 really confusing so we just probably
 0:25 said feeble Zoobles fun yeah I think we
 0:27 cleared that up the last time you were
 0:29 on the the live stream here and this is
 0:32 our weekly Friday community livestream
 0:35 exclusive to the community we actually
 0:37 need to do more community stuff which we
 0:40 will probably next week actually we have
 0:44 some things planned and then of course
 0:45 release 43 is coming up or deep end of
 0:48 release 42 right now but we have a lot
 0:50 of really cool stuff to show you guys in
 0:52 the next couple weeks as released 43
 0:55 gets closer and closer including some
 0:57 really cool artwork by the way by
 0:59 Fletcher Kinnear one of our character
 1:03 artists here at portal Aaron who is
 1:05 putting some things into the weekly
 1:07 update for you guys and I was working on
 1:09 that just before this livestream kicked
 1:11 in so I really would like to see what
 1:14 you guys think of it because this is
 1:16 something that we've done a little bit
 1:17 differently including one piece that I
 1:20 don't know if we've actually announced
 1:22 just to the community the shroud of the
 1:24 avatar the shit out itself the shroud
 1:27 itself yet that is not cool we're not
 1:29 talking about the game name at the
 1:31 moment here but the shroud of the avatar
 1:33 or the avatar shroud or however you can
 1:36 say that that it's not confusing so the
 1:38 shroud of the avatar for shroud of the
 1:40 avatar is going to be in the game I
 1:43 think it's released 43 is what we're
 1:46 targeting but there's some other cool
 1:47 stuff that he's also working on - that
 1:49 one being the highlight Richard was
 1:52 going to join us here he is deep into a
 1:55 bunch of other stuff so I was just going
 1:57 to go over a couple of quick things
 1:58 a couple reminders we've had this
 2:02 announced for a couple weeks now but the
 2:04 seedinvest campaign has been something
 2:07 that you guys have seen in emails over
 2:09 the last couple weeks in social updates
 2:11 and I expect most of the community knows
 2:16 about it by now but it's something we're
 2:18 very excited by
 2:20 and usually Richard and others you know
 2:22 jump on and talked about it including
 2:24 you know trying to you know get other
 2:27 ways I've reached out to the community
 2:28 as much as possible to answer their
 2:30 questions about things like our last
 2:33 this past weeks Q&A webinar with
 2:38 seedinvest itself they helped host a
 2:40 webinar where we we were seeing a lot of
 2:42 questions from the community on what
 2:44 would it seem that so I understand
 2:46 that's why how do you invest what is
 2:49 investment mean what what are the you
 2:53 know any concerns that they have and
 2:54 clarifications in general so we
 2:56 hopefully got to most your questions
 2:59 there's I know there's an I know there's
 3:01 some more to be answered in general in
 3:03 the community we only had so much time
 3:04 alone and I where I think it was but the
 3:07 recording is now available we've
 3:09 announced that or on social and on the
 3:11 website you can check it out it'll be in
 3:13 the weekly update and in the email of
 3:15 the weekly update so if you want to
 3:17 catch up on what Richard said he talks a
 3:19 little bit about the company talks about
 3:20 the game talks about where we're heading
 3:22 with everything and gives you some some
 3:25 good information is it's a solid
 3:27 presentation it's not overly long I
 3:29 actually want to say that his
 3:30 presentation was about 20 minutes and
 3:32 the rest was QA
 3:35 let's see what other news we have well

 3:41 everybody's probably thinking what are
 3:43 we going to show actually here I see
 3:45 boats and water and the pretty cool
 3:47 scene and now some of the what we're
 3:49 going to show today is a team called

 4:38 be back in the offices this Monday we're
 4:41 hoping that yeah he had a little bit of
 4:43 a sickness and then vacation yeah and
 4:48 then I pause there because I'm like I
 4:50 guess it's a sickness or we recall it
 4:53 but he is humanly very ill and then I
 4:55 didn't keep it on vacation right he was
 4:57 down for a couple weeks on that and went
 5:00 on a bit well-deserved vacation so
 5:01 anyway I've mentioned that last time but
 5:04 he's going to be back next week so
 5:05 you're gonna see posts by him and he is
 5:08 also going to be participating in the
 5:10 reddit AMA the details of the reddit ami
 5:12 are on the front page of the website
 5:13 it'll be in this weekly update coming
 5:16 this Tuesday well I say this to you know
 5:19 how many people I know that say you
 5:22 gotta correct me when I say this Tuesday
 5:25 and they're like what you mean yesterday
 5:26 and I'm like no next next next week this
 5:29 next whatever so the next the Tuesday
 5:32 that hasn't arrived yet but will shortly

 5:45 which a little clarification there from

 5:53 Avatar subreddit is the community
 5:55 subreddit so where the anybody who wants
 5:58 to talk about the game in general goes
 6:00 to that subreddit community-controlled
 6:02 they talk about all things seem best
 6:05 game Richard Garriott star sometimes
 6:10 they talk about me I find that it's too
 6:12 certain I see no makes me feel good
 6:14 always positive 100 percent positive and
 6:17 other stuff too around the game so
 6:20 that's the place to go and check it out
 6:22 and hang out also there are a couple of
 6:25 new sub reddits that I just saw one this
 6:27 morning actually that was created that's
 6:29 specific to the game now what I mean by
 6:32 that is they don't talk about seed
 6:33 investor the company or anything like
 6:36 that it is specific to if you have like
 6:39 a question about a scene or you want to
 6:42 join others in PvP or something like
 6:44 that
 6:44 completely game focused no politics
 6:48 knowing none of the other stuff and so
 6:51 that's very cool so it's great to see
 6:52 you guys create new sub reddits back to
 6:55 soda underscore official the reason we
 6:57 created that well that's been actually
 6:58 created for a few years now I think it's
 7:00 been four years since that sub ride has
 7:02 actually been up and we just decided to
 7:05 restart it because we saw that there was
 7:07 a really kind of a lack of reach out to
 7:10 the community yes we have been trying to
 7:13 post in the communities subreddit or the
 7:16 avatar
 7:16 Chris Matt you use the other Chris Chris
 7:21 speier's has been heavily involved in
 7:23 there we post on the official portal
 7:25 areum account and just try to get
 7:28 involved but there's so much going on
 7:30 there that we want to make sure that
 7:32 when we are involved in something on
 7:34 reddit it's more noticed and so the
 7:38 subreddit soda underscore official SOT
 7:41 Hagen is just the place for us to
 7:44 organize news really
 7:45 so it's announcing things like the
 7:47 reddit AMA will the reddit AMA actually
 7:50 take place on there we're looking at
 7:52 having that actually on there we were
 7:55 looking at working with the moderators
 7:57 and community at large on the shroud of
 8:00 the avatar subreddit to put it on there
 8:02 but it's this is mostly going to be
 8:05 focused on seedinvest yes we're going to
 8:07 take questions about the game as well
 8:09 but we we have a lot going on and we
 8:11 want to make sure that nothing is missed
 8:13 there and that it's focused does that
 8:17 mean some more moderation yes that needs
 8:19 a more in moderation but we can't have
 8:21 it be completely chaotic and overtaking
 8:24 and other stuff so just for this one I
 8:27 think we're going to keep it focus - so
 8:29 it official but we definitely want to
 8:31 work with the moderators and the team
 8:33 over at the subreddit sure the avatar
 8:35 for other stuff so we'll have reddit AMA
 8:38 is over there - don't worry about that
 8:39 we're not looking to like drowned it out
 8:43 and take it over or something that's
 8:45 been rumors in the community so just
 8:47 trying to organize you guys know me in
 8:49 the forms organizing things left and
 8:51 right all the time to make it easier for
 8:52 you guys to find stuff so that's
 8:54 the goal so enough of that let's see we
 8:57 have one more announcement that I wanted
 8:58 to put out there in an advance of the
 9:00 weekly update Comic Con I have not
 9:03 actually been to comic-con but I hear it
 9:05 f is amazing today so I ever believe I
 9:09 have not been to one yet either this
 9:10 thing the cause a million inventions but
 9:12 I've never been oh yeah there's new TV
 9:15 shows that are being announced and all
 9:17 sorts of crazy stuff including including
 9:19 I'm not just saying that because I'm
 9:21 excited about Comic Con Richard Garriott
 9:23 and star long are both going to be there
 9:24 they're going to be there what was the
 9:26 date July 20th to 23rd
 9:28 so which comic-con is San Diego okay
 9:31 yeah the the main want to get one real
 9:33 cutting on me bitch comic-con San Diego
 9:36 International I think is less called so
 9:38 we're gonna have to I think they're
 9:40 panels so Richard will actually Richard
 9:42 I think is speaking a little bit about
 9:44 his space adventures and some other
 9:46 things at Comic Con first and then that
 9:49 will be followed up with a panel with
 9:51 Richard Starr and I believe there might
 9:54 be somebody else but the weekly update
 9:55 will have general details of what those
 9:57 panels are the times in the location
 10:00 there you have to be determined those
 10:01 usually come a little bit closer to the
 10:03 event so watch out for those if you get
 10:04 a chance to go to comic-con first
 10:07 congratulations second I want to see
 10:09 some really crazy photos that you take
 10:11 there but we'll cover those panels and
 10:14 give you some details of what they
 10:16 talked about I think they may be
 10:18 recorded if they are we'll have those in
 10:20 the recordings and a weekly update as
 10:23 well so very cool on that I didn't write
 10:27 it in here but again SOTA Khan is coming
 10:30 up this fall I believe the dates I
 10:33 didn't write those down either obviously
 10:35 October 13 through 15 somebody yell at
 10:37 me if that's wrong so check out the

 10:40 calendar for that as well and we're
 10:42 really excited about so to come because
 10:44 it's here in Austin and I want to
 10:46 mention that each time on this community
 10:48 livestream because not everybody watches
 10:50 it if you're just you know catching up
 10:51 on your eating you're a new player and
 10:54 you're wondering you know hey I want to
 10:55 meet Richard I want to meet Starr I want
 10:56 to talk to the team I wanna see what
 10:58 Barracks up to and hang out with them
 11:00 for a day or two
 11:01 well Shotokan the the next thing to do
 11:04 that was so we're very excited to have
 11:05 that in Austin
 11:06 going to get some tours of the studio
 11:08 and just hang out with you guys it's
 11:09 going to be really a lot of fun
 11:11 Celeste as' all right so so what do you

 11:22 the beginning with just a disclaimer
 11:23 this map is still being worked on so if
 11:26 it looks unpolished it's because it is
 11:27 looks really great to me yeah I only got

 11:59 town and it's also an NPC town there
 12:02 currently aren't any NPC's here that are
 12:04 noteworthy but according to loan there
 12:07 there will be in the future
 12:10 so yeah I'll start off this is kind of
 12:12 the Townsend definitely a huge overhaul
 12:16 from what it was before it was very flat
 12:17 anytime I see something flat I like to
 12:19 make it on flat I love the reality just
 12:22 it gives you cool side lines just it's
 12:26 just prettier it gives it more dynamics
 12:28 and yeah why not just making things
 12:29 vertical I mean I try to do that in my
 12:31 house it's like pile stuff in corners
 12:34 and sis better than so over here we have
 12:36 a little market probably what would be
 12:39 worn to vendors over here that'll be up
 12:41 to Dan that's usually the last thing
 12:43 play yeah all right and under yeah and
 12:48 that would be somebody else doing that
 12:49 but up here how to be cool to kind of
 12:53 have a stage where players could you
 12:56 know do plays or even have like a dance
 12:58 floor and you can't may not be able to
 13:01 see it
 13:02 oh wow it's seamless almost seamless
 13:05 right there is a trapdoor and I don't
 13:08 have it working yet probably have it
 13:09 working snowed on Monday but rides right
 13:11 on its feet oh yeah right here you see
 13:14 that scene right there yeah so that is
 13:16 either going to be a trapdoor or an
 13:18 elevator
 13:18 and the idea I thought it would be cool
 13:21 to have a chapter with Hutch suggested
 13:22 maybe an elevator that way I think that
 13:23 would be more use I think it should be a
 13:25 spring launcher like step on it launches
 13:27 you to somewhere I mean the idea is that
 13:31 you know actors or whatever could enter
 13:33 the stage through that or exit the stage
 13:35 through you know the middle so that's
 13:38 kind of cool for know or you know Kabuki
 13:41 theater a lot of this is culturally it's
 13:45 inspired by Japan you know I definitely
 13:48 had Japan in mind when I when I place
 13:50 the structures that the terrain is
 13:54 inspired by the limestone mountains in
 13:57 Japan which are in a park that I can I
 14:01 can't pronounce the name I can't speak
 14:03 Chinese so Japanese no no the terrain
 14:06 the terrain is Chinese oh so I wanted to
 14:09 go with the Knicks
 14:10 oh oh that's culturally Japanese but I
 14:14 wanted you know those kind of is higher
 14:16 this tall amounts could make them too
 14:18 tall
 14:18 I would I would call them earth stuff
 14:21 because like you know to call it calm
 14:24 Ellen you know a anyway I'm getting into
 14:28 philosophical stuff we nobody want to

 15:10 just want to mess with people that are
 15:11 dancing I don't know
 15:13 so over here I have a little Zen garden

 15:18 out of this for the weekly update yeah
 15:19 yeah so I created this little are you
 15:21 supposed to smell mom laughs and you're
 15:23 probably messing it up yeah you know it
 15:24 should be but we don't you walk
 15:26 don't have footprints yet but there you
 15:28 go cross my fingers one day okay so yeah
 15:32 you're supposed to go on the pad over
 15:35 here we have a little koi garden or koi
 15:37 pond two frogs and things like that you
 15:40 know frogs and I think we have frogs no
 15:42 I have yeah we don't have frogs but yeah
 15:45 there's some koi in there can kind of
 15:46 see them floating kind of inactive any
 15:48 that crank their speed up a little bit
 15:50 sort of lazy sending Gardens so people
 15:53 are asking I want to then garden maybe
 15:54 for their castle water or all the way
 15:58 down to non-role probably would fit
 16:01 whatever that would be cool also not my
 16:03 department
 16:04 so I either even possible this is all
 16:07 this is all dreaming from people who
 16:11 don't decide these things yeah how about
 16:14 we get some prizes away sure should

 16:54 choice so there's several digital sets
 16:56 because it very coolly really we release
 16:58 even our 42 this last release of the
 17:00 game so to pick one and let you know if

 17:10 pack of them like that wouldn't really

 20:03 game which is just a starting area of
 20:05 the game where you start basically of
 20:07 your new player you'll be able to visit
 20:09 this scene pretty comedians on which
 20:12 which questions you be yeah and so
 20:15 either we have these spaces for Lots and
 20:19 houses to be placed are they available
 20:22 in the current scene or is it like is
 20:25 there houses there now and then I don't
 20:27 know they're there probably I assume
 20:29 that they're all purchase is you I don't
 20:33 know if anybody's built anything yeah
 20:34 see that what we the reason I mentioned
 20:36 it is what we try to do when we unclean
 20:39 scenes there's a lot of scenes that are
 20:41 have kind of a generic copy to them so
 20:45 that we can get some other basic things
 20:47 and as we develop the game because the
 20:48 game is still in early access and all we
 20:50 make it making tremendous progress on
 20:52 getting those cloned scenes unclosed
 20:56 unique with a style to those areas
 20:58 quests MVC's and lots and if there is a
 21:03 scene that's clone that has lots in it
 21:05 already you have a nice house you have
 21:07 that lord of the manor house and you're
 21:09 wondering what okay I heard the scene is
 21:11 going to be on cloned of what happens to
 21:15 my house nothing happens to the house
 21:17 because we don't really touch those lot
 21:22 areas we decorate and move in adjust
 21:25 things around them and because that's
 21:27 the general land you yeah and I also try
 21:30 hard not to you know change anybody's
 21:33 view cuz I know a lot of people will
 21:36 pick a place you know specifically
 21:38 because it has a nice view so if
 21:41 anything I'll try to improve the view
 21:43 that a you know the stuff that we try to
 21:46 take in consideration sometimes if I
 21:49 notice that like a lot is placed in an
 21:53 awkward area that's sort of difficult to
 21:55 get to I'll make it easier to get to
 21:57 like this lot for instance there's a lot
 21:59 up here this trail was here before but
 22:01 there's no trail on the front on the
 22:03 front side which is closest to the town
 22:05 center
 22:06 if I met the right lot man thinking else
 22:08 is still real quick so I added a little
 22:13 trail to it I'm gonna run with this one
 22:18 so I added a little trailer here just to
 22:21 make it easier you know for them to
 22:25 travel you know either way just little
 22:28 things like that you know what I try to
 22:30 you know help players out in that regard
 22:32 and you do me a favor click on Chrome
 22:36 sure we don't know what's going to pop
 22:39 up here so okay you guys can see it

 25:00 Kurosawa fan or guys that you'll you'll
 25:02 probably recognize some of these things
 25:05 also I got to give a shout out to
 25:07 Fletcher for helping me with that for
 25:08 some of the hour
 25:09 I can't say any more than that well he
 25:14 didn't want to give too much away but he

 41:37 up in the 50 frames a second greige
 41:40 gonna be awesome you know we've made a
 41:43 lot of progress with the performance and
 41:45 you know it's it does get slow when
 41:48 there's a lot of characters on the scene
 41:50 at one time or no really so that's
 41:53 parties are gonna be better
 41:54 it'll be better it'll be better yeah the
 41:56 characters did not get much touching
 41:58 this time just so people know so high
 42:00 character scenes will probably still
 42:03 have some performance issues but they
 42:06 should have a lot more read before they
 42:08 start getting bad it will be much better
