==New Britannian Cosmology== New Britannia’s equator is an imaginary line — a belt around the middle of the planet — halfway between the north pole and the south pole. The equatorial plane is the flat, two-dimensional surface in which the circle of the equator is located. The celestial plane is an abstract projection of New Britannia’s equatorial plane into outer space. All celestial objects in the system lie in the celestial plane and orbit concentrically and clockwise (as viewed from the northern extension of the planet’s axis, from east to west as viewed from the planet’s surface) around New Britannia. In other words, all celestial objects are satellites of New Britannia. The axes of all celestial objects, including New Britannia, are perpendicular (at right angles) to the celestial plane.
