Iron Gate is a [[player owned fortified town|player town]] located on the [[Isle of Elysium]].
The town of Irongate and Iron Keep, founded 135PC by Duke Hortensius Arturis Irongate by treaty of Vertas and Xenos. "To fortify and protect the Elysium Mines for our greater glory".

Irongate offers a depth of character role-play emersion and enrichment with detailed history’s, a fully walled defensive town ready for warfare, set amidst beautiful open grasslands, flowering meadows, streams and lakes. Amenities include Dragon & Titan statues, fountains, hot air balloons, expert crafting stations, Crafting pavilions, Ancient enormous Yew trees, Battlement & Roof top racing festivals, PVP Arena events in the Keeps basement, gardens, seasonal town decorating, Sieges, Gustball field w/tourneys, numerous spacious home & water lots of all sizes are available. Can’t afford a home & lot? We have RENT-2-OWN lots and homes available (from City to Row sizes) and standard rooms available in the Keep and Inn as well.

Originally designed as a Vertas military outpost and Keep fortification (Greco-Roman), it fell into the hands of elves and other foul creatures more than 168+ years ago in 340PC. But today, Irongate is once again reclaimed and held by the direct descendent of Hortoneius; Duke Horton Irongate. Today, Irongate once again serves its primary function as frontier protection to the Elysium Mines and now -protection for the eastern and southern approaches to Port Phoenix.

In 495 PC, Duke Horton and his retainers began a campaign to retake the town. Horton conducted Novia's first "Hot Air-Assault” from Brittany, crossing the Bay of Storms and onto the ruined walls of Irongate via a Cloud Imperium battle Cruiser, thus gaining a foothold and validating the military flexibility of the Battle Cruiser as more than a mere “ship of the line”. This new technology allowed for a bold assault on what was once considered a virtually impregnable position. By bypassing the elven defenses and reestablishing the Keep as a fortification, Horton gained the ability to launch further campaigns and continuous assaults. By 510PC, Duke Irongate had swept the remaining Elves, bandits and undead from the surrounding areas and rebuilt much of what was lost to ruin. With the town now refortified and once again garrisoned, Irongate eagerly welcomes new adventures, merchants or fortune seekers to its walls and river fronts. But be WARNED!, all “Irongates” must be sworn members of the Iron Guard or Iron Militia, to serve and protect this beautiful frontier town.
